Convocation 2012
Where people come together to be together
August 16, 2012 to August 19, 2012
Camp Cedarcrest, 886 Mapledale Rd, Orange, CT
We are please to announce that this year's Harvest Gathering will be a 4-day indoor/outdoor event, promoting the celebration of knowledge, spirituality, enlightenment, family and fellowship. By virtue of its very name, we embrace the collective spirit of our kindred. As we come together at the time of the first harvest let us reap the efforts of what we have sown throughout the year.
Registration will be open at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 16, 2012. Our convocation will begin with a Welcoming Dinner from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Dinning Hall. The Welcoming Dinner is open to everyone whether or not you are on the meal plan. The Welcoming Dinner is an opportunity for us to join together, share a meal and provide information about the event activities. Following the Welcoming Dinner there will be a Procession to the Amphitheater of Spiritually and then to our Comencement Ritual. Besides the many classes, workshops and rituals taking place we also have numerous vendors who will be situated throughout the campground selling their wares.
Pre-register is required to attend this event. This year you can register for the entire 4-days, with a number of options available for the meal plan and work shifts or Weekend (Saturday/Sunday) registration. Please refer to our registration page for details and registration times.
This year our meal plan will consist of a Continental Breakfast and a full dinner. Lunch will be on your own. The campground offers a number of brick grills to use for cooking, you will need to bring your own lunch foods, charcoal and cooking supplies. The kitchen is not available for storage, ice or cooking, so we ask that you please plan accordingly.
As always, we will have a Community Table of light food and snacks in the Dinning Hall. If you wish to donate please note this on your registration form.
The weekend will consist of over 40 classes, workshops and rituals with World Renowned Authors, drumming circles, fire circle, vendors and of course "The Crystal Ball" featuring live D.J. music.
Camp Cedarcrest is located in Orange, CT right off Route 34. The facility offers cabins that sleep 6 to 8 people, wooded tenting areas, bathrooms with showers, etc. Due to the limited size of the campground there is an attendees limitation. Please be advise that due to these limitations we cannot offer an all male, all female, quiet, party or sober cabins. If you require these arrangements, please plan on tenting. All cabins have bunk beds that cannot be separated and all cabins will be filled to capacity.
Even though the camp does has one handicap cabin that will sleep 2, (which in turn would mean that if we have 2 handicap persons attending the event they would be housed here and their companions will have to be house else where) the site itself is not handicap friendly. If you require the use of a wheelchair or other walking equipment, there may be some mobility issues with the terrain and some of the class/workshops locations.
Please be advised that cars will may not be able to drive right up to all sites. We do not have the means to move supplies/equipment as we've had in the past (e.g.: golf carts), so you may need to carry your supplies/equipment to your cabin/tent site depending on where it is located. Once a car is unloaded, you will be asked to move your car to the parking area. If you need to leave the event to go to the store, please be advised that you will need to return your car to the parking area and walk into the campground, you will not be able to bring your car into the campground area until the end of the event.
We look forward to seeing you there.
